Dr. Sunil Kumar Swain
Dr. Swain is an AIIMS-certified cardiothoracic surgeon with a sub-specialization in pediatric cardiac surgery. A native of Odisha, Dr. Swain graduated with MBBS from S.C.B. Medical College, Cuttack with the highest level of distinction in 1991. Dr. Swain has done his M.S. (General surgery) from M.K.C.G. Medical College, Berhampur in 1997, and his M. Ch. in Cardiothoracic and vascular surgery from the famous All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi in 2004.
During his M. Ch. in AIIMS, New Delhi, he developed a research program “S-100β level in on-pump and off-pump coronary artery bypass grafting – a prospective study” which he presented at the National Conference of Indian Association of Cardiovascular Surgeons at New Delhi, India, 2004. The other two important research topics during this period were “Outcome of aortic valve replacement in patients with severe left ventricular dysfunction” and “Management of systemic atrioventricular valve regurgitation in the corrected transposition of great arteries” which was presented at the National Conference of Indian Association of Cardiovascular Surgeons at Hyderabad, 2003.
Dr. Sunil has worked in world-renowned health centers across Australia and India in his 17 years of the medical profession including, Prince Charles Hospital, Brisbane, Mater Children’s Hospital, Brisbane, Australia, AIIMS, New Delhi, Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute, Lucknow, Innova Children’s Heart Hospital, Care Hospital, Lotus Children’s Hospital, Continental Hospital and currently in India famous Apollo Health City, Hyderabad as a Senior Consultant, Paediatric Cardiac surgery.
