Dear Dr!

Hope you are doing well.:) You were the person to operate on my son's heart on January 5 2020 at Apollo Hospital, Navi Mumbai! Today is my son's first birthday and we are here celebrating the same and thinking about you who was the only reason to save his life.

We are followers of Lord Tirupati Balaji and we believe god does not come to help people he sends people I can very well say that you are a person who was sent to save my sons' life.

He needs your blessing every year and due to this pandemic, we could not come and meet you but will definitely ensure he meets you in person and you bless him.

To an Exceptional Cardiac Surgeon

Your skill saved my daughter's heart, your care touched my life. Words cannot fully express my gratitude for saving my daughter's life, but more than that, for holding our hands through the darkest moments of our fear.

When she was at her most vulnerable, your profound skill gave her a second chance, while your quiet kindness kept a mother's breaking heart together.

Every extra day I get to watch my beautiful girl smile, grow, and live is a profound gift from your hands and heart, and our family will spend the rest of our lives carrying a deep, eternal reverence for the miracle you performed.

Thank you for making every heartbeat count.

Best Regards –

Parent's Review and Gratitude Note

We are the parents of a 3-year-old girl who was diagnosed with Large VSD with TV Straddling. Our daughter's treatment journey has been long and challenging, but we have been fortunate to receive excellent care and support throughout.

At the age of 5 months, our daughter underwent her first-stage surgery, Pulmonary Artery (PA) Banding, on 25th August 2023, the ICU stay was for 5 days and total stay was 7 days. The surgery was successful, and her recovery was smooth and uneventful. Since then, she has been under regular follow-up and monitoring.

Recently, at the age of 3 years, she underwent her second-stage surgery, the Bidirectional Glenn (BD Glenn) procedure, the ICU stay was for 7 days and total stay was 10 days. Once again, the surgery was successful, and her postoperative recovery was smooth without any major complications.

Seeing our daughter recover well and return to her normal activities has brought immense happiness and relief to our family. We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Sunil Kumar Swain, Paediatric Cardiothoracic Surgeon, for his exceptional skill, dedication, and compassionate care. From the very beginning, he patiently explained every step of the treatment plan, addressed all our concerns, and guided us with confidence and reassurance. His expertise and commitment have given our daughter the opportunity to lead a healthier life.

We are also deeply thankful to the entire medical, nursing, and support staff who cared for our child with kindness and professionalism throughout her hospital stay. Their encouragement, timely care, and attention made a significant difference during difficult times.

As parents, we remained hopeful and cooperative throughout the treatment process, and we are grateful for the trust and support we received from the healthcare team. We understand that our daughter will require the third-stage surgery (Fontan procedure) in the coming years, and we are confident that she will continue to receive the best possible care.

Today, seeing our daughter healthy, active, and smiling is the greatest reward for our family. We sincerely thank Dr. Sunil Kumar Swain and his team for making this journey easier and for giving our child a brighter future.

With sincere gratitude,

Mrs. Sughra Yasmeen

Reema Msangi with baby Hafid after successful heart surgery
A Journey from Tanzania.
A Second Chance at Life.

A Journey from Tanzania: Hafid's Story of Hope

My name is Reema Msangi, and my son's name is Hafid Azizeswai. We came from Tanzania. My baby was diagnosed with dextrocardia with transposition of the great arteries.

Back in Tanzania, we were told that surgery was our baby's only treatment, but it couldn't be done there due to a lack of resources. So we were referred to India, to Apollo Hospitals, Hyderabad.

Here we met the experts. They carried out a full evaluation, echo, and diagnosis, and told us that the surgery was possible. On 8th July, our baby underwent a Bidirectional Glenn procedure. The surgery was successful, and his recovery was successful too.

With gratitude –
